A spate of vandalism struck Larkfield last night, causing significant damage to vehicles and local properties. Unknown offenders smashed the floodlights at Larkfield & New Hythe Football Club and attacked several cars in the area. Some vehicles were damaged by objects apparently launched using a catapult.
The most alarming incident involved a rock being dropped from the Lunsford Lane bridge, which smashed the roof of a car driving on the M20 motorway. This dangerous act has raised serious concerns about road safety in the community.
The football club’s floodlights were left shattered, leaving the facility in urgent need of repairs. Residents of Larkfield are unsettled by this recent surge in vandalism, especially following earlier reports of car damage around the area. The attacks have increased fears about both road safety and community security.
Kent Police have launched an active investigation into the incidents and are urging anyone with information to come forward. They are particularly interested in any dashcam or CCTV footage from the Lunsford Lane bridge, where the rock-throwing took place.
