Driver caught cruising on a licence expired 40 years ago in Dover! Kent Roads Policing Unit (RPU) officers stopped a motorist in Dover who was driving on a licence that expired in 1981 — over 40 years ago.
The shock did not end there; the driver also had a history of drink driving bans.
During routine checks, officers discovered the expired licence and quickly issued a Traffic Offense Report (TOR). The vehicle was seized immediately, removing the reckless driver from the roads.
“#RPU3 Officers on patrol in the Dover area stopped this vehicle and established that the driver’s licence expired in 1981, having previously been disqualified for drink driving. TOR issued and vehicle seized. #NiceStop #BeaknLinc”
Kent RPU issued a road safety warning, urging all drivers to keep their licences up to date. “Unlicensed and disqualified drivers pose a serious threat,” they said.
This incident highlights the ongoing efforts of Kent Police to crack down on dangerous drivers and maintain road safety.
