Police were called to Walnut Street in Blackburn shortly before 4pm on Saturday, April 3, following reports of a serious assault. A man in his 50s was found with multiple stab wounds and was rushed to hospital. His condition has been described as stable but serious.
Following investigations, two men from Blackburn, Mahtab Hanif, 22, and Ramzan Hanif, 24, both residing on Goldhey Street, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. They have since been charged with Section 18 wounding and are due to appear at Blackburn Magistrates’ Court.
Detectives are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information, including footage from mobile phones, dashcams, or CCTV, to come forward. Members of the public can contact police on 101, quoting log 1092 of April 3, or report information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
