Wales’ most wanted fugitive, Mohammed Ali Ege, remains on the run 14 years after the savage murder of 17-year-old Aamir Siddiqi in Cardiff. Aamir was brutally killed at his home in Roath on April 11, 2010, while waiting for his Quran teacher.
Ege, aged 42 and originally from Riverside, Cardiff, fled to India before police could arrest him in connection with the killing. Authorities finally captured him in 2013, but in a shocking turn of events, he escaped custody in 2017 while awaiting extradition back to the United Kingdom. Since then, his whereabouts have been unknown.
Detectives continue their efforts to locate Ege and have released new images taken after his 2013 arrest in India. These images are intended to help the public identify and report any sightings of the fugitive. Law enforcement agencies, including the National Crime Agency and international partners, remain committed to tracking Ege down and bringing him to justice.
Two other men convicted of Aamir Siddiqi’s murder are currently serving life sentences in prison. Aamir’s family continues to receive updates and support from specialised liaison officers as the search for Ege continues.
