Kent Police are currently investigating a break-in at St John the Evangelist Church in Kingsdown, where a unique bird-shaped lectern was stolen overnight on Sunday.
The theft was reported to police on the morning of Monday, 2 May 2022. Officers are appealing to the public for any information that could assist with the investigation.
Authorities are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area, or who may have dashcam or doorbell footage capturing the incident. Additionally, anyone who has been offered the stolen lectern for sale is urged to contact police immediately.

Police and the local community are working together to help keep church treasures safe and recover the stolen lectern.
