On Wednesday 4 May 2022, at around 6.20pm, a woman was sexually assaulted by a man on a path connecting Merton Lane North and Stuppington Lane in Canterbury. The suspect approached the woman, made abusive comments, and then sexually assaulted her before fleeing the scene on a bicycle, possibly an electric one.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5ft 8in tall, and believed to be in his early 20s. He was wearing a dark blue hooded jumper, black trousers, and had a bandana covering part of his face at the time of the incident.
Kent Police are actively investigating the case and are urging anyone who witnessed suspicious behaviour in the area to come forward. They are particularly interested in speaking to a man who was seen walking his dog nearby around the time of the assault.
Authorities believe that dashcam or CCTV footage from the vicinity could be crucial to the investigation.
