Police rushed to Lordship Lane Recreation Ground, N17, in North London at 10.05pm on Wednesday, 18 May following reports of an assault.

Officers discovered a 43-year-old woman with slash wounds at the scene. She received treatment from Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance crews before being transported to a hospital in east London.

Thankfully, her injuries have been described as non-life-threatening and non-life-changing.

Authorities have established a crime scene at the park and launched an ongoing investigation. No arrests have been made so far.

Police are urging anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious around the time of the attack to contact them on 101, quoting reference 8253/18MAY. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
