Jeremiah Sewell, a 19-year-old from Bellingham, has been identified as the victim in a fatal stabbing in Beckenham. The Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command confirmed his identity as the investigation into the murder continues.
Police conducted raids overnight into the early hours of Sunday, July 17, resulting in four arrests. A 19-year-old and an 18-year-old have been detained on suspicion of murder. Additionally, a 21-year-old and a 26-year-old are facing charges of assisting an offender. All four remain in police custody as detectives continue their inquiries.
Detective Chief Inspector Chris Wood, who is leading the investigation, expressed his condolences, stating, “My thoughts continue to be with Jeremiah’s family and friends. They deserve to know what happened and who is responsible for his death. We’ve made significant progress but still need the public’s help. No piece of information is too small. Please come forward.”
The attack occurred at approximately 4:40 am in Beckenham Place Park. Jeremiah was found with stab wounds to his neck while sitting in a parked car. He was taken to a hospital in south London but sadly died from his injuries.
