Kent Police have arrested a 53-year-old man from Gravesend in connection with an incident involving a threatening display of a meat cleaver. The event took place late at night near Perry Street and Wycliffe Row.

At approximately 10.40pm on July 8, 2022, police responded to reports of a man waving what appeared to be a meat cleaver and behaving in a threatening manner. The suspect was detained the following morning but has since been released while the investigation continues.

Detectives have reviewed CCTV footage from the area and are now appealing to the public for information. They are particularly interested in speaking with four individuals who had been drinking outside a nearby pub at the time of the incident. Among these witnesses, one person reportedly offered the suspect a cigarette.
