A violent fight broke out just after 4am on Saturday, 5 November 2022, near the Oast House and BLVD nightclub on Wood Street, Manchester. CCTV footage captured dozens of people gathered as the disturbance escalated.
Police confirmed that a gun was fired during the incident, a shocking development given the busy crowd present at the time.
Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with the shooting. Talib Shabani, from Leicester, faces charges including possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life, dangerous driving, and driving without insurance. Abdul Wali, who currently has no fixed address, is also charged with firearm possession.
Both men have been remanded in custody ahead of their court appearance at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Monday, 7 November.
Detective Inspector Madeline Kelly said, “Thankfully no one was injured, but this could have ended very differently with so many people around. We need witnesses to help us piece together what happened.”
Police are urging anyone who was near Wood Street around 4am on 5 November—whether walking past, waiting for a taxi, or parked nearby with dashcam footage—to come forward. Even seemingly minor information could be crucial to the investigation.
