Two men in their 20s were left shaken after a terrifying attack on Mattocks Path, Swindon, on the evening of November 26. Around 7pm, the men arrived to make a delivery but were confronted by a gang of five to eight teenage boys.

The group, all dressed head to toe in black with caps and face coverings, some riding electric and pedal bikes, swiftly targeted the victim’s vehicle. They smashed a window with a metal rod before shouting aggressively at the pair.

One of the delivery men was struck with the metal rod and rushed to hospital. Initial fears of a broken collarbone were thankfully avoided, but he lost hearing in his right ear and now faces specialist treatment.

Earlier that same evening, police received reports of a similar incident nearby on Pipers Way where a group of teenage boys punched a vehicle’s wing mirror. Authorities are probing if these attacks are connected as enquiries continue.
