At least four vandals broke into a communal common room at a student property on Faraday Road, Lenton, Nottingham, late at night on 26 October. Although they left empty-handed, they caused significant damage to a door.
Just days later, on 2 November, the same group forced entry once again and further damaged the door. Despite the repeated break-ins, nothing was stolen on either occasion.
Nottinghamshire Police have released an image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the two break-ins. Sergeant Neil Langham highlighted the impact of the damage, stating: “A door inside the student accommodation was severely damaged during these incidents, which impacted both those living there and those tasked with maintaining the common room too. Criminal damage is a serious offence that can, as demonstrated here, affect people in a multitude of ways, whether that be financial or from an emotional standpoint.”
The police are urging anyone who recognises the man in the photo to come forward with information. Those with information can contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident 147 of 27 October 2022, or reach out anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Neighbours and students remain concerned as police continue their investigation into the brazen damage spree in Lenton’s student area.
