Police in South Belfast are actively hunting two men suspected of robbing a woman in her 50s on Fitzroy Avenue. The incident occurred on Monday, 2nd January, between 8:20pm and 8:30pm.
According to Sergeant Rooney, the victim was first approached by the two unknown men who demanded her wallet and phone. When she attempted to escape by crossing the road, the suspects followed her. One of the men then pushed her against a wall before both fled on foot towards Ormeau Road.
The suspects have been described as follows: Man 1 is around 30 years old, wearing a black jacket, dark jeans, and red trainers. Man 2 is around 40 years old, with dark hair, wearing a green jacket, grey trousers, and black trainers.
Sergeant Rooney said, “Enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with information should call police on 101 quoting reference 1658 02/01/23. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
