Rolando Torres-Pena, 21, formerly of Carson Road E15, is set to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 5 January. He was arrested following a horrific incident at a care facility in East London.

Police were called at 3.45am on Tuesday, 3 January, after reports of a man injured at an adult care facility on Glen Road, E13. Officers and ambulance crews arrived to find a 34-year-old man with serious head injuries. Despite desperate attempts to save him, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examination revealed that the cause of death was compression of the neck.

Torres-Pena was arrested on suspicion of murder at the care home. Both he and the victim were residents at the facility. He remains in custody ahead of his court appearance.
