On Saturday 14 January 2023, at around 1pm, a gun threat caused panic at a store on Lostock Road in Davyhulme, Trafford. A man allegedly threatened shop staff with what is believed to be a firearm while they were serving customers. Fortunately, no shots were fired during the incident.
Staff responded quickly by hitting the panic alarm, which activated a smoke cloak. This forced the suspect to flee the scene without taking anything. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the case.
Trafford CID are actively searching for a man described as wearing a distinctive red and black Berghaus jacket. Police believe he may have crucial information that could help solve the case.
Detective Constable Emma Bentley said: “Fortunately no one was harmed. We’re appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or recognises this man to come forward and help with our enquiries. There’s no direct threat to the local community, but we’re continuing patrols and monitoring the area closely.”
