Chaos erupted just after midnight on 28 August 2022 aboard the route 250 bus travelling from Streatham to Croydon.
A man and woman were seated at the rear of the top deck when four women boarded the bus and took seats behind them. Near Brigstock Road in Thornton Heath, the group suddenly launched an attack.
The woman was struck with a bottle during the incident. When the couple tried to move away, the attackers pursued them, and the man was hit with a crutch.
The four women then fled the scene as quickly as they had arrived, leaving the man requiring hospital treatment for a head injury.
Police are currently searching for the attackers and are urging anyone who recognises the women in photos or has information about the incident to contact them.
