National Highways has announced a full closure of the A3 in both directions at Wisley, Surrey, starting from 9pm on Friday, 11 April until 6am on Monday, 14 April. This 57-hour closure is part of vital bridge and junction upgrade works at the M25 Junction 10 interchange, a well-known traffic bottleneck.
The closure affects the section of the A3 between M25 Junction 10 and Painshill Roundabout (A245). The purpose of this shutdown is to carry out long-term safety and traffic flow improvements at one of the busiest motorway junctions in the UK.
While the A3 will be completely closed between the specified points, northbound access at Painshill from Byfleet Road will remain open. National Highways advises commuters to plan their journeys in advance, expect delays, and follow the official diversion routes provided.
This closure forms part of the M25 Junction 10 improvement project, which aims to reduce congestion and enhance safety where the M25 meets the A3. This area has long been a source of frustration for Surrey commuters and long-distance drivers alike.
