The M1 motorway is completely closed both ways between Junction 12 (Flitwick) and Junction 13 (Milton Keynes South) tonight, Saturday 17 May. Bedfordshire Police confirmed that the shutdown follows an ongoing police-led incident.

The closure has resulted in severe delays, with many drivers stuck in standstill traffic for hours. National Highways traffic officers are currently at the scene assisting with managing the congested routes.

Diversion routes have been put in place to help ease the congestion caused by the closure.
