A serious four-vehicle crash involving two lorries, a van, and a car has shut the Sheerness-bound A249 near Bobbing on Tuesday morning.
Kent Police were called to the scene at around 8:25 a.m. Emergency crews from the South East Coast Ambulance Service treated two individuals for minor injuries before transporting them to a nearby hospital.
The A249 carriageway between Key Street and the Bobbing slip road remains closed while recovery teams work to clear the wreckage. A diversion route is currently in place, adding to the usual rush hour congestion for drivers in the area.
A National Highways spokesman said, “The closure between the A2 and the junction with the A250 Queenborough is expected to clear between 1:15pm and 1:30pm today, with normal traffic flow likely around 2:15pm to 2:30pm.”
Motorists are advised to expect delays and consider alternative routes while recovery and road cleaning operations are ongoing.
