Police are currently responding to a protester who has climbed onto a motorway gantry on the M25 between junctions 6 and 7 in Surrey. The incident began early this morning on 7 November.

While traffic is still moving at present, delays are increasing as authorities manage the situation. Commuters traveling through the affected area are facing delays of around 50 minutes.

For safety reasons, National Highways has closed the northbound carriageway between junctions 6 and 7. Drivers are advised to avoid this section of the motorway if possible to reduce congestion and ensure safety.

A specialist protester removal team is on site and preparing to climb the gantry to safely remove the demonstrator. Police and emergency crews remain vigilant, working to manage the situation and clear the road as quickly as possible.
