Motorists in Kent faced significant travel disruptions following a serious collision on the M25 near the Dartford Crossing. The crash occurred on the M25 between junctions 31 and 30 on the distributor road, causing extensive delays on the M25 anti-clockwise and the A282 northbound.
Emergency teams responded promptly, installing closures and diverting vehicles, which led to traffic being held up before the tunnels. Although the incident has now been cleared, congestion continues to affect the area with delays lasting up to 60 minutes longer than usual.
The traffic jam has extended approximately 8 miles back to junction 4 (Orpington) on the M25 anti-clockwise, causing a significant tailback for drivers.
In addition to the M25 delays, the A2 eastbound and westbound routes approaching M25 junction 2 are also experiencing heavy congestion. Westbound delays are adding around 25 minutes to journeys, while eastbound drivers face delays of up to 45 minutes.
