A man in his 30s has tragically died after being struck by a tanker lorry on the M20 near Ashford. The fatal collision occurred at approximately 7.45am on the coastbound carriageway between Junctions 10a and 11.
Emergency crews quickly responded to the scene, but the victim was pronounced dead at the location. The crash involved two cars, a van, and the tanker lorry, near the bridge by Evegate Business Park in Smeeth.
Traffic on the London-bound side was temporarily halted to allow an air ambulance to land as paramedics attended to the incident.
The motorway was closed for around six hours while National Highways cleared the wreckage. Drivers were diverted onto the A20 during this period. The M20 reopened at about 2pm, with National Highways reporting no excessive delays in the area and thanking motorists for their patience.
Police continue to investigate the cause of the collision. Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage to come forward and assist with the inquiry.
