A serious crash on the A2 motorway near Gravesend has resulted in a motorcyclist sustaining life-changing injuries. The incident occurred at approximately 8:15pm near the Wrotham Road and Ebbsfleet junctions, causing significant disruption and a full closure of the road.

Emergency services, including police, paramedics, firefighters, and an air ambulance, responded swiftly to the scene. They were supported by National Highways staff. Despite their rapid response, the severity of the accident required authorities to close the A2 in both directions between Ebbsfleet and Wrotham Road.

The road closure has led to heavy traffic congestion, with motorists being advised to expect long delays. National Highways has warned that the A2 will remain closed until at least 11pm while crews work to clear the wreckage and investigators conduct their inquiries into the cause of the crash.

Details regarding the motorcyclist’s condition have not been released, but the involvement of emergency services indicates the injuries are serious. Rescue teams continue to manage the situation and provide support to those affected.

Drivers are urged to seek alternative routes and remain patient as the A2, a key transport artery in Kent, remains closed throughout the evening.
