Emergency services launched a frantic search after a woman was spotted jumping into the River Thames from London Bridge on Tuesday evening, 19 November.
Police were called at around 5pm following reports from witnesses. The Marine Policing Unit and a police helicopter quickly joined the search operation.
Despite an intense and ongoing search, the woman has yet to be found.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that investigations are ongoing to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident. A spokesperson said, “This is a tragic and distressing situation. Our thoughts are with those who may be affected by this incident. We are continuing to explore all avenues to locate the individual.”
Officers are urging anyone with information or who witnessed the incident to come forward by calling 101.
The area around London Bridge remains under close surveillance. River patrols have been increased as the search continues around the clock.
