A woman’s body was discovered inside a flat at St Domingo House on Leda Road, Woolwich, south-east London. Police were called to the property at 12:03pm on Tuesday, November 19, following concerns for the woman’s welfare.
Officers arrived at the scene and found the deceased woman. Her identity has not yet been released as authorities are in the process of informing her next of kin.
A 49-year-old man was arrested at the scene in connection with the incident. He has since been released on bail. No charges have been filed as the police continue their inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
The Metropolitan Police have stated that the investigation is ongoing and detectives are working to establish how the woman died.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police were called to reports of concern over a person’s safety at an address in Woolwich, south-east London, at around 12:03hrs on Tuesday, 19 November. Officers attended St Domingo House, Leda Road, where they found the body of a female. A 49-year-old man has been arrested and released on bail. Enquiries are ongoing.”
