Detectives are actively investigating after a woman was sexually assaulted in broad daylight at Morden Recreation Park. The attack occurred at 2:20pm on Sunday, October 20, while the victim was with her family, including two young children.
The suspect approached the woman after a brief conversation and then committed the assault before fleeing towards Canterbury Road.
Police have released an urgent E-fit to help identify the suspect, who is described as a late teenager, approximately 6ft tall, with a skinny build. He was wearing a burgundy hoodie with white print, blue tracksuit bottoms, and black trainers.
Detective Constable Tom Green said: “We know this assault has shaken the local community, especially since the woman was with her children at the time. Please take a close look at this E-fit. If you recognise him or the clothes, it’s vital you get in touch.”
DC Green also urged anyone feeling unsafe to speak directly with officers on patrol.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 101 quoting reference CAD 3851/20Oct. Alternatively, information can be reported anonymously via Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111 or online.
