Jean Renoir Janga, 37, from Sussex Close, Bamber Bridge, appeared at Manchester Crown Court today following his conviction on six counts of voyeurism.
Janga was handed an 18-month community order and imposed with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) lasting five years. Additionally, he is required to notify authorities as a sex offender for five years and must surrender his mobile phone under a forfeiture order.
The charges arose after police discovered 11 videos on Janga’s phone. The footage showed him secretly filming female police staff members in a staff toilet located at Greater Manchester Police (GMP) premises during September and October 2017.
Detective Chief Inspector Dave Jones, from GMP’s Professional Standards Branch, said: “Both Greater Manchester Police and the public expect officers and staff members to maintain the highest standards of behaviour. As soon as PSB received the complaint, Janga was suspended and a robust investigation was launched.”
“We found that Janga had disregarded these expectations and behaved in a completely unacceptable manner – secretly filming colleagues in the toilet to fulfil his sexual desires.”
“This sentencing will be shortly followed by a misconduct hearing. This is normal procedure and will be led by PSB.”

Police have identified multiple victims, all police staff, who have been informed as the investigation continues to unfold.
