Police were called at 4pm on Tuesday 1 March 2022 after a man attempted to rob Wynsors Shoes on Ashton Road, Oldham. The suspect entered the shop, demanded cash, and claimed he was armed with a knife and a gun.
Fortunately, the man left without taking any money and fled down Ashton Road towards Copter Hill Road.
Detective Constable Berry of Greater Manchester Police’s Oldham district said, “Thankfully, no one was harmed during this incident but it was an incredibly traumatic experience for the shop staff.” No weapons were shown during the robbery attempt.
Police are treating the incident seriously and are actively searching for the man responsible.
Officers have released CCTV images of the suspect and are asking anyone who recognises him to come forward. DC Berry added, “If you were in or near the store at the time or have any information, please get in touch with us.”
