Just after 8am on Wednesday, 12 October 2022, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) were called to reports of a 12-year-old boy being assaulted on Cheetham Hill Road, Manchester.
Emergency services quickly responded to the scene and took the boy to hospital, where he was treated for minor head injuries. GMP confirmed that they are actively investigating the incident to identify and apprehend those responsible.
In response to the assault, GMP has increased patrols in the Cheetham Hill area. A spokesperson said, “We would like to reassure the local community that there will be additional high-visibility officers patrolling the Cheetham Hill area and supporting ongoing enquiries into this incident. Officers are there to reassure and support the local community as well as keep the public safe. If anyone has any concerns, our officers will be happy to assist.”
Police are urging anyone who witnessed the assault or has footage from the area to contact GMP on 0161 856 1146, quoting Log 640 of 12/10/2022. Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
