Jacob Lee of Pilgrims Way, Salford, has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for the kidnapping and sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl. The attack took place on Princes Avenue on the evening of November 29, 2022.
Lee hid behind the teenager before forcibly dragging her away. He then sexually assaulted her and attempted to strangle her. Despite the terrifying ordeal, the brave victim fought back and managed to escape, immediately reporting the incident to the police.
Greater Manchester Police launched a swift investigation, collecting vital forensic evidence and key items from the scene. This led to the prompt arrest and charging of Jacob Lee for the crimes.
Faced with overwhelming evidence, Lee pleaded guilty to the charges. During sentencing, the judge described Lee as “dangerous” and emphasised the need to protect the public by removing him from society for 11 years.
Detective Constable Stuart Bentley of GMP’s Salford Division praised the victim and her family for their courage. He stated, “We commend the victim and her family for their strength. Our team’s hard work has secured justice and helped protect other women and girls in the area. We encourage all victims to come forward. GMP are committed to taking every report seriously and supporting victims through every step.”
This verdict sends a clear message that sexual violence will not be tolerated in Salford. Jacob Lee will now serve over a decade behind bars for his cruel attack on a teenage girl.
