An elderly woman’s birthday turned into a terrifying ordeal on Christmas Eve when three masked burglars forced their way into her home on Saxon Street, North East Manchester. The 77-year-old victim was left deeply shaken by the incident.
The break-in occurred at around 6pm while the pensioner was watching television. She was startled by a loud bang and discovered three masked men had entered her property. The intruders made her remain in the kitchen while two of them searched the house for approximately five minutes.
The burglars escaped with the victim’s handbag, which contained £50 in cash, a bank card, a bus pass, and other personal belongings.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have released images of the suspects but have not made any arrests so far. Officers are urging anyone with CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage from the Miles Platting, Saxon Road, or Bradford Road areas around 6pm on Christmas Eve to come forward with any information.
Detective Sergeant Terina Arthern expressed gratitude to the community for their support, stating, “Your messages are deeply appreciated and have been passed onto the victim and her family.” She also assured that police will leave no stone unturned in their efforts to catch the culprits and protect the victim.
