Two men from Carmarthenshire have been locked up after a routine patrol uncovered a stash of Class A drugs. Jac Cadman, 23, and Jamie Cook, 31, both from Ammanford, were arrested in Swansea in a dramatic police swoop.
On March 13, officers on mobile patrol spotted Cadman and Cook’s car in Blaenymaes. The vehicle was linked to a provisional licence holder, raising immediate alarm bells. The pair’s suspicious behaviour inside the car invited a closer inspection.
A search under the Misuse of Drugs Act revealed Cadman hiding a snap bag of white powder in his pocket, along with £470 in cash and bank cards belonging to others. Cook wasn’t any luckier — police found four more bags of white powder and £880 in cash. Lab tests later confirmed the substance was cocaine.
Police seized three phones from the duo. Text messages on the devices tied both men directly to the trafficking of Class A drugs.
Cadman pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine, involvement in the supply, and possession of criminal property. Cook admitted to possession with intent to supply and possession of criminal property.
Justice was served with jail time handed down to both men. Jac Cadman was sentenced to 28 months behind bars, while Jamie Cook received 40 months in prison.
The duo’s short-lived joyride ended in handcuffs as police cracked down hard on drug crime. This case marks another victory in the fight against Class A dealers in Wales.
