Rail strikes are set to cause major disruption at Gatwick Airport and across key national rail routes from Friday 1st December through Saturday 9th December. The ASLEF strike will impact different train companies on specific days, spreading disruption nationwide:
- Saturday 2nd December: East Midlands Railway & LNER
- Sunday 3rd December: Avanti West Coast, Chiltern Railways, Great Northern, London Northwestern Railway, Thameslink, West Midlands Railway
- Tuesday 5th December: c2c and Greater Anglia (including Stansted Express)
- 1st & 6th December: Gatwick Express, South Western Railway (Island Line included), Southeastern, Southern

In addition to the strike days, ASLEF is imposing an overtime ban from 1st to 9th December, which may further worsen delays and cancellations.
