Leyton Davies, aged 28, has been sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 33 years for the murder of 50-year-old Dale Stogden, also known as Brett, in a drive-by shooting that took place in Wakefield.
The sentencing occurred at Leeds Crown Court on 15 May, where Davies was already in custody following his conviction in March. In addition to the murder charge, Davies admitted conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.
Davies received a life sentence due to his direct involvement in the fatal shooting, marking a significant development in the Wakefield criminal case after lengthy deliberations by the court.
His co-defendants, Adam Ahmed and Marc Carter, were both convicted of manslaughter and previously sentenced to 12 years in prison each at an earlier hearing.
