Leyton Davies, 28, has been sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 33 years for the murder of 50-year-old Dale Stogden, known as Brett, in a drive-by shooting in Wakefield.
The sentencing took place at Leeds Crown Court on 15 May, where Davies was already in custody following his conviction in March. Davies had also admitted conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.
Davies was handed a life sentence due to his direct role in the fatal shooting, marking a significant moment in the Wakefield criminal case after the court’s lengthy deliberations.
His co-defendants, Adam Ahmed and Marc Carter, were both convicted of manslaughter and each received 12-year prison sentences at an earlier hearing.
