Spirit thieves targeted shops in Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells in a brazen spree that lasted almost two months.
Between 15 October and 6 December 2023, suspects stole around 50 bottles of spirits from Sainsbury’s stores located in Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells, as well as a Waitrose store in Kings Hill. The thieves operated either alone or as a pair, making off with a significant haul of alcoholic beverages.
Police arrested Mirela Durac, 33, and Leonard-Marius Durac, 34, both residents of Plaistow High Street, on 6 December. Mirela Durac faces five counts of theft, while Leonard-Marius Durac has been charged with two counts.
Both suspects have been released on bail and are scheduled to appear at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on 3 January 2024.
