Gardaí launched a major operation across Finglas yesterday, targeting organised crime and drug activities with significant force. Supported by armoured units and sniffer dogs, the raids covered multiple locations, resulting in substantial seizures.
The coordinated effort involved officers from Finglas, Blanchardstown, and Cabra Garda teams working alongside the Garda Emergency Response Unit, Armed Support Unit, and the Dog Unit. Their objective was to dismantle dangerous criminal networks operating in Dublin’s suburbs.
The operation led to the seizure of a pump-action shotgun, 26 rounds of ammunition, four motorcycles, €10,000 worth of cannabis (pending laboratory confirmation), €4,200 worth of heroin, a tracking device, and multiple phones and electronic devices for forensic analysis.
A Garda spokesperson confirmed that investigations are ongoing and indicated that further updates may be provided as the seized items are examined and linked to key suspects. This raid forms part of a broader campaign to combat drug trafficking and illegal weapons possession in the capital.
Gardaí continue to intensify efforts to disrupt organised crime rings in Dublin, with Finglas being a focal point of recent enforcement actions.
