Toni Andrews, a 23-year-old woman from Hull, has been sentenced to 16 months in prison following an investigation by the National Crime Agency (NCA) into her involvement in a child abuse ring. Andrews was found to have taken indecent images of a child and shared them with her 24-year-old boyfriend, Thomas Edeson.
The NCA’s investigation into Thomas Edeson began in May 2021 after receiving a tip-off from the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Edeson had previously been convicted in August 2021 for sexually assaulting a young girl and taking indecent images of her.
During the investigation, detectives discovered over 800 indecent images on Andrews’ devices. These included horrific child sexual abuse images as well as extreme pornography. Andrews admitted to sending one indecent photo to Edeson but claimed she was unaware of his obsession with children.
At Hull Crown Court, Andrews pleaded guilty to seven charges, including taking indecent photos of a child and possession of illegal images. She was sentenced to 16 months in prison and placed on the sex offenders register for 10 years.
Holly Triggs, a senior investigator at the NCA, commented: “The demand for this type of illegal material is shockingly high in the UK. The NCA is committed to protecting children and making sure offenders face justice.”
