Police in Southampton are investigating a brutal assault that left an 18-year-old man with a fractured skull. The violent attack took place on Warburton Road in Thornhill just before 5pm on Wednesday, 25 April.
The victim and his 19-year-old friend were assaulted without warning during the busy afternoon, resulting in serious injuries to the younger man.
Officers have arrested a 17-year-old boy in connection with the incident. He remains in police custody as inquiries continue.
Police believe that many people witnessed the attack or attempted to intervene. They are urging anyone who was nearby at the time to come forward with information.
