A dangerous predator who targeted young girls has been sentenced to over seven years in prison. Peter Michael Fisher, 20, from Dagenham, was handed a seven and a half year jail term at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Wednesday, 2 May.
Fisher admitted to multiple offences involving eight girls aged between 13 and 16. The charges against him included six counts of sexual communication with a child, two counts of causing or inciting sexual activity, malicious communication, causing a child to watch a sexual act, and possessing indecent images of children.
The offences occurred between October 2016 and September 2017, taking place both at Fisher’s home and during a family holiday in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.
The Metropolitan Police’s Child Sexual Exploitation Team arrested Fisher on 15 August 2017 following complaints from two girls. Although he was initially released on conditional bail, detectives launched a nationwide investigation, tracing victims through phone and social media contacts.
In one particularly disturbing case, Fisher engaged in sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old girl, fully aware she was under the age of 16. After further interviews and evidence gathering from all victims, Fisher was re-arrested in November 2017. He later pleaded guilty to all offences in January.
Detective Constable Steve Gradwell from the Child Sexual Exploitation Team praised the victims for their bravery. He said, “I want to praise the children for their courage in coming forward. Fisher used social media to gain trust, share intimate photos, and coerce his victims into sexual acts.”
He added, “My advice to children is never share pictures you wouldn’t want others to see. If you’re worried about online abuse, tell someone or contact the police. You can also report online abuse to CEOP and seek help from organisations like NSPCC.”
Detective Gradwell also warned, “Fisher may have abused others. If you were a victim, contact the Met’s Sexual Exploitation Team on 020 8217 9817, where trained officers are ready to help.”
Fisher will remain on the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely and will be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order. Although he pleaded not guilty to two counts of malicious communication, these charges were dropped.
While justice has been served in this case, authorities continue to investigate and seek out any other potential victims who may have been exploited by Fisher.
