Police are investigating a serious crash that occurred on the Isle of Wight on Thursday night, 17 September. Authorities are seeking witnesses to help with their enquiries.

Between 9pm and 9.15pm, a blue Citroen C1 left the road on Briddlesford Road, near the Combley Road junction, located between Downend and Wootton. The vehicle ended up in a nearby field.

The driver, a 19-year-old man from Sandown, sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment in hospital.

Police have urged anyone who witnessed the collision or saw any events leading up to it to come forward. They are particularly interested in information about any other vehicles in the area or dash cam footage that may have captured the incident.
