Southampton police from the High Harm team arrested two suspected Class A drug dealers parked outside a McDonald’s in Green Park, Millbrook on 3 October 2020.

Officers spotted a grey Fiat Bravo believed to be linked to drug dealing in the McDonald’s car park. Upon searching the car and its driver, Kamal Gordon, they found wraps of heroin and crack cocaine, along with a small amount of cannabis. The drugs had an estimated street value of around £400.

The passenger, Romarn Birch, 24, from Hornsey Lane, Haringey, was inside the fast-food outlet at the time. Police discovered two mobile phones and £455 in cash on him during a search.

Kamal Gordon was charged with two counts of involvement in Class A drug supply and was sentenced to five years and nine months in prison at Southampton Crown Court on 29 June. Romarn Birch faces the same charges and is scheduled to return to court on 14 July for sentencing.

Police stated, “Drugs supply is often linked to violent crime and the exploitation of vulnerable adults and children. We are committed to a tough stance on drug dealing and urge the public to share any information to help keep our communities safe.”
