A 13-year-old schoolgirl named Mya Lawrence has died after being struck by a car at a busy roundabout in Dover. Mya was a pupil at Dover Christ Church Academy.
Kent Police reported that a blue Vauxhall Astra hit Mya while she was crossing the A256 carriageway at approximately 7.40pm on Friday. The collision occurred as the vehicle exited the Whitfield Hill roundabout.
Emergency services attended the scene and pronounced the teenager dead at the location. Her family have been informed of the tragic incident.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was not injured. Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to assist with their inquiries.
