Steven Faber, 53, of Solon New Road, Clapham, has been sentenced to 30 months in prison following an armed robbery at a local shop on Clapham Park Road.
The incident occurred in the early hours of 12 September 2020, just before 2am, when Faber entered the store brandishing a Beretta-style imitation handgun. He threatened the cashier, shouting, “Give me the money or I’ll shoot you.” The terrified cashier handed over £130 before Faber fled the scene.
The Metropolitan Police’s elite Flying Squad acted swiftly, reviewing CCTV footage to identify and locate Faber. He was arrested on 29 September 2020.
Detective Constable Stefen Rule, who led the investigation, stated, “Weapons have no place on the streets of London. Our priority is to protect our communities and target those involved in firearms and violence. This case is another good example of the work we do to remove violent offenders from the streets.”
Faber pleaded guilty to robbery and possession of an imitation firearm at Inner London Crown Court, resulting in his 30-month prison sentence.
