A Cambridge man, Emiljan Durici, has been jailed following a police stop on Newmarket Road on 14 February during a routine patrol. Officers identified a white BMW linked to suspected drug dealing in the area, which led to a search uncovering evidence of cocaine trafficking.
Durici, who lives on Ditton Walk, Cambridge, was found driving without insurance. A further search revealed a mobile phone containing drug-related messages and £274 in cash. In addition, four bags of cocaine worth approximately £160 were discovered hidden on his person.
Police also conducted a search of Durici’s residence on Ditton Fields. This search uncovered 11 bags of cannabis, 19 bags of cocaine valued at over £2,000, and £4,000 in cash. These findings reinforced suspicions of large-scale drug dealing.
At Peterborough Crown Court on 12 May, Durici pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine and cannabis, possession of criminal property, and driving without a licence or insurance. He was sentenced to three years in prison and received a 30-month driving ban.
