Kent Police made a lightning-fast arrest after two suspected thieves tried nicking building materials in Folkestone.

Suspicious Activity Sparks Rapid Response

Just before 3am on Tuesday 21 April 2026, officers were tipped off about shady goings-on near Bouverie Place. Witnesses spotted two men stashing building materials in a wheelie bin and acting suspiciously.

Quick Arrests Lead to Court Charges

By 3.13am, police had swooped and arrested the duo. Later, Matthew Henderson, 38, from Old Ash Close, Ashford, and 58-year-old Jeremy Martin, a man with no fixed address, were charged with theft. Both suspects were remanded in custody and set to face Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 22 April.
