A 20-year-old man from Preston has been charged with two counts of rape after a woman was allegedly attacked at Preston Bus Station.

Incident in Early Hours Sparks Police Probe

Abisalom Tesfai, from Wildman Street, was arrested after the incident, which took place between 5.30am and 6.30am on Saturday 18 April 2026. Police were alerted at 6.46am and quickly sealed off the male toilets at the bus station as part of their investigation.

Suspect Remanded, Police Hunt Witnesses

Tesfai is now remanded in custody and is set to appear at Preston Magistrates’ Court. Lancashire Police are urging anyone with information, CCTV, or dashcam footage from the area during the time to come forward. Witnesses should call 101, quoting log 284 of 18 April.
