Emergency services were called to the railway line near Junction 16 just after 2.30pm on Easter Sunday following a fatal incident. Sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by a train.
The Great Western Air Ambulance crew landed nearby but were stood down shortly after arrival.
Missing Dog’s Body Found at Scene
While crews were on site, police discovered the body of a missing Rottweiler named Nala. The dog had vanished from a home off Swindon Road.
The British Transport Police confirmed the dog was safely recovered, but was not involved in the train incident and was not with the deceased person at the time.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic death and recovery of the dog’s body near the tracks.
