Three suspects are behind bars following a dramatic armed police raid in Swindon last Thursday evening.
Raid Follows Large-Scale Disorder
Armed officers swooped on a flat in Welcombe Avenue at around 6.30pm on April 2. They were backed by the ambulance service’s Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) and an operational commander ready to respond.
Police arrested a 22-year-old man, a 20-year-old woman, and a 39-year-old woman on suspicion of affray – a violent public disorder often involving weapons.
Ongoing Investigation After Monday’s Chaos
The raid comes just days after a “large-scale disorder” erupted on Welcombe Avenue on March 30, which also involved armed police. Three people were arrested then but have since been released on bail pending further investigation.
