Pervert Caught in Police Sting
Thomas Brewerton, 25, travelled from Stourbridge to Swindon last November with sick intentions to sexually abuse a girl under 13. But police officers were waiting for him instead. The vile plan was foiled before any harm could occur.
Six Years Behind Bars Plus Sexual Harm Order
Swindon Crown Court sentenced Brewerton to six years and four months in jail on 18 March after he pleaded guilty to arranging or facilitating causing a child under 13 to engage in penetrative sexual activity. He was immediately remanded in custody. The judge also slapped Brewerton with an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
Police Crackdown on Child Predators
“Thomas Brewerton is a dangerous individual who sought to rape a child and my officers acted swiftly to detain him,” said DI Dave Wells from SWROCU.
“Our team is part of a national specialist network hunting down those with a sexual interest in children, intervening before damage is done. This sentence and SHPO will help keep our communities safe.”
