A 20-year-old man is still behind bars after a violent stabbing incident in Melksham left two women injured.

Police Swarm Scene After Serious Stabbing

The chaos erupted around 5.30pm last Saturday (14 March) at Cotswold Close, off Westbury View. Emergency services raced to the scene following reports of a serious disturbance.

Around 15 officers flooded the area, discovering one woman had been stabbed while another suffered a wrist injury.

Local Hero Tackles Naked Suspect

Paramedics from Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance treated the victims onsite. Meanwhile, the attacker, shockingly completely naked, tried to escape but was tackled by a brave local resident on Blackmore Road.

The 20-year-old suspect was arrested and remains in custody this morning, held on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

Police Investigation Ongoing

The scene was cordoned off for about an hour, reopening at 6.30pm. Detectives are focusing their investigation on two homes in the cul-de-sac.

“A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm following a disorder in Cotswold Close, Melksham at about 5.30pm yesterday (14/03),” said a Wiltshire Police spokesperson.

“A woman has been treated for superficial stab injuries, and another woman was treated for a wrist injury. The suspect remains in police custody.”
